Privacy Policy
FitUp has no account, no login, no ads, and no servers of its own. Your jobs, cut lists, take-out edits, and settings stay on your iPhone. The only information that leaves the phone is about subscriptions: Apple processes the payment, and RevenueCat, a subscription service we use, records the purchase and whether your subscription is active, under a random ID that is not your name or email.
Who this policy covers
This policy describes how the FitUp iPhone app (the app) and this website handle information. The app is published by Jay Alcalde (we, us). It applies to every version of FitUp distributed through the Apple App Store. If this page does not answer your question, email jayalcalde93@gmail.com.
What stays on your iPhone
Everything you enter into FitUp, which means your saved jobs and cut lists, the take-out values you edit, your settings (units, rounding, weld gap, default pipe size and fitting), and your onboarding answers (trade, pipe size, and the offset you tried), is stored only on your device:
- Jobs and cut lists are saved as a file in the app's private storage on your iPhone. Settings, take-out edits, onboarding answers, and the count of free rolling offsets used this month are saved in the app's on-device preferences.
- This data is included in your iCloud or computer backup if you back up your iPhone, under Apple's backup terms.
- It is deleted when you delete the app.
- It is never sent to us, to RevenueCat, or to anyone else. We cannot see it or recover it.
- When you share a cut list as text or an image, iOS hands it to the app or person you pick in the share sheet. FitUp does not keep a copy anywhere else and does not see where it went.
The offset, rolling offset, and take-out calculations run on the phone. They work with no internet connection.
What leaves your iPhone: subscriptions
FitUp sells an optional auto-renewing subscription (Pro). Two companies are involved.
Apple processes the payment
Purchases, free trials, renewals, and Restore Purchases go through Apple's in-app purchase system. Apple handles your Apple Account, payment method, and billing under Apple's Privacy Policy. We never see your name, email address, or card. Apple gives the app a signed record of the transaction (which product, when, and until when it is active) so it can turn Pro on, and sends us sales reports that do not identify you.
RevenueCat records subscription status
The app includes the RevenueCat software development kit from RevenueCat, Inc. We use it to keep a record of purchases and subscription status, and to see totals such as how many trials started and how many subscriptions renewed or were cancelled. When the app opens and when a purchase or restore happens, the RevenueCat SDK sends RevenueCat:
- An anonymous app user ID. A random identifier the RevenueCat SDK creates on your device the first time the app runs. It is not your name, email, Apple Account, or phone number. We do not assign our own user IDs and do not log you in.
- Purchase and subscription history. The product (monthly or yearly), price and currency, purchase, trial, renewal, and expiration dates, whether a trial or subscription is active, Apple's transaction IDs, and the signed transaction data Apple provides for those purchases.
- Basic device and app information. The iOS version, the app version and RevenueCat SDK version, the App Store country or storefront, and the device's language setting. Like any internet request, the connection also carries your IP address, which RevenueCat can use to estimate country.
Purposes: to make Pro work correctly (app functionality) and to give us purchase analytics (revenue, trials, renewals, cancellations). RevenueCat processes this information on our behalf as a service provider. It does not receive your jobs, cut lists, measurements, take-outs, or settings. We do not use RevenueCat's attribution or advertising-identifier features, and we do not send it your name, email, or any custom attributes. RevenueCat's handling of this data is described in RevenueCat's privacy policy.
What we do not do
- No ads. The app shows no advertising and contains no advertising SDK.
- No tracking across apps or websites. We do not use the advertising identifier (IDFA), fingerprinting, or data brokers, and the app never shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt because it does not track you.
- No other analytics or crash reporting. Apart from RevenueCat's purchase records, the app contains no analytics, crash-reporting, or attribution SDK. We do not know which screens you use or what you calculate.
- No permissions. The app does not ask for your location, contacts, photos, camera, microphone, or notifications.
- No selling or sharing. We do not sell personal information and do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.
This website
This site is static HTML hosted on Vercel. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics script, and has no forms. The free calculators on this site run in your browser; the numbers you type are not stored or sent anywhere. Vercel may keep standard server logs (such as IP address, page requested, and browser type) for a short time to run and secure the service, under Vercel's privacy policy. We do not use those logs to identify visitors.
If you email jayalcalde93@gmail.com, we see your email address and what you write. We use it only to answer you. We do not add you to a mailing list or share your message.
Children
FitUp is a trade calculator and is not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child's purchase record is held by RevenueCat on our behalf, email us and we will delete it.
How long information is kept
- On your iPhone: until you delete it in the app or delete the app.
- RevenueCat: the purchase record for the anonymous app user ID is kept while it is needed to show subscription status and for our financial and tax records, and is deleted on request as described below. RevenueCat's own retention is described in its privacy policy.
- Apple: under Apple's policies.
- Support email: until your question is resolved, or sooner if you ask us to delete it.
Deleting your data
- Data in the app: delete individual jobs inside the app, or delete FitUp from your iPhone to remove everything it stored. Remove it from old iCloud or computer backups too if you want no copy left.
- RevenueCat records: email jayalcalde93@gmail.com with the subject "Data deletion". Because the record is anonymous, include the Order ID from Apple's receipt email for your FitUp purchase (or the purchase date and plan) so we can find it. We delete the matching customer record in RevenueCat within 30 days and confirm by email.
- Apple records: your purchase history stays with Apple under your Apple Account. Apple handles requests about it at privacy.apple.com.
- Deleting the app or your data does not cancel a subscription. Cancel it on your iPhone under Settings, your name, Subscriptions.
California privacy rights (CCPA/CPRA)
In the last 12 months we have collected, through RevenueCat, these categories of personal information: identifiers (the anonymous app user ID and IP address), commercial information (purchase and subscription history), and internet or device information (iOS version, app version, storefront country, language). The sources are the app on your device and Apple. We use them only for the purposes above. We do not sell or share personal information, and we do not use or disclose sensitive personal information. California residents may ask to know what we hold, to delete it, and to correct it, and will not be treated differently for asking. Email jayalcalde93@gmail.com; we verify a request by matching the Apple Order ID you give us to the record, and reply within 45 days. You may use an authorized agent.
EEA, UK, and Swiss privacy rights (GDPR and UK GDPR)
Jay Alcalde is the controller for the subscription information described above, and RevenueCat, Inc. is our processor. Our legal bases are performance of a contract (providing the subscription you bought) and our legitimate interest in understanding purchases, trials, and cancellations. RevenueCat processes data in the United States; transfers rely on the safeguards described in RevenueCat's privacy policy and data processing terms, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses. You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to processing of your personal data, and to data portability. Email jayalcalde93@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.
Security
Data in the app is protected by iOS: app sandboxing, device encryption, and your passcode or Face ID. Subscription information travels to Apple and RevenueCat over encrypted HTTPS connections. We hold no copy of your jobs or measurements, so a breach of our systems could not expose them.
Changes to this policy
If FitUp starts handling information differently, we will update this page and the effective date before releasing the version that does so, and describe the change in plain words. We will not apply a change to information collected before it without your consent where the law requires it.
